Big news, blog world: I'm maybe not such a fat runner anymore. I find myself saying "maybe" because, now that I'm down about 60 pounds from my heaviest, my identity is taking its time catching up. I still totally identify with the me who wrote that first introductory post more than a year ago, and I often do a double-take when I run past a reflective store window and wonder who that average-sized runner chick is.
Of course, I'm psyched when I remember that the average-sized runner plodding to the finish line is me, or realize that I get a lot less "go girl!"attention when I am putting in the miles during the week. What always occurs to me first, though---before catching my reflection or realizing that I can't shop in certain stores anymore---is how freaking awesome I feel. AWESOME.
Which brings me to the other big news.
This experience---not just the weight loss, but my radically healthy approach, my amazing energy levels, and the unique perspective I have as a busy lawyer and mom to a toddler---has led me to make a huge move in my career. Many of you know I've been a lawyer for a few years---not loving it, but moving right along---and hoping that I'd run into my "dream job" one of these days. I've always wanted to provide direct service to people; I just didn't know how. Well, this new adventure started with helping loved ones make new choices for health, led to course work in nutrition and wellness, and---gulp---here I go!
I am super excited to introduce you to my new company, The Upswell Workshop: weight loss and wellness coaching for everyone.
Some of the services The Upswell Workshop will be offering:
- group workshops for weight loss and wellness
- private coaching - for fitting wellness into a busy life
- ongoing, long-term support
- group runs for new runners---slow paces highly encouraged!
I would be honored if you'd spend a few minutes looking around, liking/following Upswell on Facebook and Twitter, and sharing with any friends and family who you think could benefit from a radical change in their health. The first workshop of 2015 is half price, and if you (or a friend) email me to let me know you saw this post, you'll get another 10% off.
Meg and I will still be blogging over here at TWRL (as well as working, running, mothering, cooking), and I don't think much will change around here, except that we hope to post with more consistency. Thanks for all of your support, friends!
